Geleya - Not up to the mark
IndiaGlitz  [Saturday, October 20, 2007]

There is some novelty in the script but the screenplay and selection of lead players Prajwal and Tarun is what not acceptable. The two guys look like Amul babies on screen and how one can imagine them as underworld dons holding pistol. This is the age for them to do tricky, interesting and lover boy roles.

Childhood friend Guru (Prajwal) and Vishwa (Tarun) are with different mental make up. Guru is hot while Vishwa is cool in thinking. Guru is looking for something vibrant while Vishwa is hard worker. As they grow one day Guru hits the village chief son from a bottle on his head in anger. He along with Vishwa elopes from the village to the big city Bangalore. Vishwa works as a cleaner while Guru plays cards and earn huge amount one day.

In the small hotel where Vishwa is working the underworld don conduct meeting regularly. In one of the meeting Guru hatches a plot to shoot the don and Vishwa should save him. This would naturally bring Vishwa very near to don. What should Guru do when he is hunt? He should join the opponent as he had shown gutsy nature. As decided Guru and Vishwa work for opponents in the underworld business. They strike right deal at right time and become trusted ones to their bosses. Now the issue of rivalry heat up between Guru and Vishwa bosses. Guru gun down Vishwa's boss and in retaliation Vishwa also takes revenge on Guru's boss. Thus the rival gangs are headed by Guru and Vishwa. In comes the super cop Vijay (Dhuniya fame Vijay). It is his mission to make city clean from underworld activities. Guru dies in the encounter but before this he saves his friend and sacrifice for him after things go out of control.

This is not the kind role for Prajwal and Tarun. They have to cross some more films to attain don positions. Vijay comes like a wild fire and clean the city from rowdies has the required punch. Kirat Battal and Sithara Vidya have nothing to prove their mettle. Kishore and Mico Nagaraj heading the rival don positions are convincing. Rakhee Sawanth appearing in an item song has not helped the film in any way.

The song Yee Sanje Yakagidhe - is the best among all the songs in this film. Cinematography by Krishna has some technical snags.

Debutant director Harsha has not worked up to the expectations.

Scoring – 5/10
