On the last day of the month of valentine, 12 direct and dubbed Tamil films are confirmed to hit the screens. All of them are small and medium budget films.
Recently the Tamil Film Producer's council has announced that all big budget films should plan their release only for the third weekend so that the small budget films that are waiting to release will have ample time to release and recover the cost in the first two and the last weeks of every month. This rule does not apply to films dubbed into Tamil from other languages.
Cashing in on this support from the Producer's council a bevy of releases has been planned for this week. Aascar Ravichandran's Vallinam directed by Arivazhagan and Thegidi produced by C.V.Kumar and directed by debutante P.Ramesh are two of the prominent releases this week.
The other films include small budget ventures like, Panivizhum Malarvananm, Amaraa, Angusam, Kadhal Solla Aasai, Vangakkarai and dubbed films like Vetri Maran (Dubbed from Malayalam film starring Mohan Lal), Non Stop, Parakkum Kallarai Manidhan and Action Kids (English) and Currency Raja (Telugu).
Out of the 1200 screens in Tamilnadu 800 are screening this week's new releases. Of these 800, Ravichandran has managed to book 400 screens for Vallinam and the remaining 11 films have to compete for the 400 screens.
