IndiaGlitz [Thursday, February 27, 2014]

Actress Saritha who was one of the leading actress of 1980's and also well known for her ability to carry powerful characters is going to make a big comeback. She acts in a central character in Cinematographer Santhosh Sivan's Inam, that speaks about the effects of Srilankan Civil war on Tamils, expecially the children.

As stated by the ace lensman in a recent interview, Saritha has acted in a character named 'Sunaamiyakka', living in Srilanka. As per the story all of her family members die during the Asian Tsunami of 2004 and Sunamiyakka believes that there has to be some purpose for her sustaining the natural disaster. Hence she starts a asylum for the children who have lost their parents due to Srilankan civil war. She considers the children in the asylum as her own kids and runs it like a family. What happens to them during the final stages of the civil war is the crux of the film as per the director.
The last film, this veteran actress has acted in is a Teleg film Arjun that released in 2004. Before that, she had acted in the central character 'Julie' in the Tamil film Julie Ganapathi, directed by lately deceased director Balu Mahendra.
