Mani Ratnam appreciates young directors

The audio of Vaayai Moodi Pesavum the second film of director Balaji Mohan who debuted with the super hit film Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi was held in Chennai, this morning. Mani Ratnam who released the audio composed by debutante Sean Roldon was the chief guest while the event was graced by many important names like director Selvaraghavan, Producer C.V.Kumar, T.Siva, Telugu star Rana Daggupati, actor Vikram Prabhu and lyricist Madhan Karky among others.

The first disc of the audio was received by Rana Daggupati while Selvaraghavan received the trailer launched by Producers council chairman Keyaar. Speaking at the function Mani Ratnam said that he finds a similarity between himself and Balaji Mohan.  "I was into the corporate world before entering cinema. My family supported my decision to quit the job and pursue my interest towards cinema. Likewise Balaji Mohan has entered the industry without any filmy background but achieved success." The ace filmmaker also expressed his happiness for today's young generation of filmmakers who are brimming with fresh ideas. The Thalapathi director recalled working with Mammootty in the film and participating in the audio launch event of the debut film of his son Dulqer Salman. He jocularly remarked that he is probably the only aged person to sit on the dais.
