Actress Madhoobala who debuted in Tamil with K.Balachander's Azhagan in 1991 celebrates her birthday today.
Madhoo shot to fame with her lead role of a young woman struggling to save her husband's life from terrorists in Mani Ratnam's Roja. She is also the heroine of Gentleman, the debut film of Shankar who later emerged as one of the prominent directors in the history of Tamil cinema.
The last Tamil film in which Madhoo acted as a heroine was Panchalankuruchi the debut film of director Seeman that released in 1996. She also danced to the evergreen 'Narumugaye' song in Mani Rathnam's Iruvar and that was the last film she was seen in Tamil screen.
However the actress continued her acting spree in Kannada, Telugu and Hindi film industries. Now she is all set to make a comeback in Tamil with an interesting character role in 'Vaayai Moodi Pesavum' directed by Balaji Mohan.
