Director Pandiraj celebrates his birthday today.
Pandiraj worked joined as the office assistant of Veteran director K.Bhagyaraj and started writing stories in his 'Bhagya' magazine. Latest he worked as an assistant to directors Cheran, Thangar Bachchan and Chimbu Devan. He inspired Director cum Producer Sasikumar with is first script who came forward to produce Pandiraj's first film 'Pasanga' and that paid off not only in terms of commercial returns but also critical acclaims that went on to fetch the National award for the Best Tamil film. Till date 'Pasanga' is considered as one of the best made Tamil films about Child life.
After this Pandiraj directed 'Vamsam' the debut film of actor Arul Nithi. He also produced and directed the critically acclaimed film 'Marina' which served as the launch pad for anchor Siva Karthikeyan who has emerged as one of the bankable heroes in Kollywood. He produced and directed 'Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga' and with that he proved that he can give successful flicks with commercial elements.
Later he co-produced 'Moodarkoodam' directed and produced by one of his former assistants Naveen. The highly acclaimed film belonged to a offbeat genre. Pandiraj has also proved his worth as a good writer with the critically acclaimed and commercially successful film 'Golisoda' directed by Vijay Milton. His dialogues for the film proved to be one of the major attractions of the film.
At present Pandiraj is busy directing Silambarasan and Nayanthara in 'Idhu Namma Aalu'. The film that is nearing completion promises to be a decent romantic comedy entertainer and has a good pre-release buzz. Interestingly the director will celebrate this year's birthday on an auspicious note since he will be shooting in Kumbakonam temple of Lord Shiva for his film.
