Suhasini in her heydays was a much appreciated actress for her capacity to don a variety of roles. However the actress in her never found favor with her famous director-husband Mani Ratnam thus far.

Things seem to have changed now and Suhasini has been offered a prominent role in 'Ravana' that stars Vikram and Aishwarya Rai in lead roles. The Hindi version of the film stars Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai.

Suhasini said in a rather jocular vein, 'my husband has finally identified the actress in me. Hope I can live up to his expectations'.

Mani Ratnam is known to be a perfectionist who takes meticulous care to get his cast spot on. Keeping this in mind one can probably come to an understanding as to which area of his wife's acting is liked by him. This will be revealed by the kind of role he assigns her.
