With the biggest release of this week, STR starrer 'Osthi' hitting the screens on Thursday itself, we have one more release today. That's 'Venmani' a film based on a real life incident, directed by Kathaka Thirumavalavan. Let's have a close look at both the releases of the week.

Osthi

The Tamil version of 'Dabangg' by Dharani and Simbu, 'Osthi' opened to packed houses on Thursday and is expected to see a good run this weekend. With Richa Gangopadhyay playing the female lead, the film boasts off a huge star cast, and that includes Jithan Ramesh, Santhanam, Sonu Sood, Nasser, Revathy, Mayilsamy, Vaiyapuri, VTV Ganesh and others.

Says Simbu, "I knew acting in the remake of Dabangg was a huge task since it was a big hit in Bollywod. We had to repeat the magic. I believe that the film would fulfill all the expectations."

Venmani

Based on an incident which rocked Tamil Nadu a few decades ago, 'Venmani' stars Karthik Jai in the role of a revolutionary leader. With story, screenplay, dialogues and direction by Kathaka Thirumavalavan, the movie is produced by Karthik Jai himself under the Karthik Jai Movies (P) Ltd banner.

Says the director, "Sometimes, those fighting for the rights of people would be initially considered as terrorists. But later, they would be realized as freedom fighters. This forms the crux of the film."
