The students kick started it, directors and employees from the film industry fueled it, and now it's the turn of the actors themselves to keep the fire blazing. Last week, the Tamil Nadu Film Directors' Association (TANTIS) and Film Employees' Federation of South India (FEFSI) observed a token one-day fast in support of the Sri Lankan Tamils, cancelling all the shooting for that day.

The Nadigar Sangam has now decided to observe a token fast on the 2nd of April. Yet again, all shooting for the day will be cancelled. Big names like Superstar Rajinikanth and Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Hassan have shown active interest to participate in the fast and show support. Since stalwarts are coming forward to extend support, justice is anticipated to be delivered soon. The fast will be held within the premises of Nadigar Sangam; actors who are not in station will be rushed back to Chennai to join the noble cause.
