Director Perarasu is very sentimental about use names for his films. He staunchly follows the ritual of naming his movies after places, as could be seen from his 'Thirupachi', to the most recent 'Thiruthani'. Following the rule, he had named the Tamil version of his next film, 'Tihar'.

The film is a Tamil-Malayalam bilingual, starring debutante Mukundan and Akanksha Puri in the lead, and is said to be a sequel of the 90's Malayalam flick, 'Samrajyam', which saw the rise and fall of the lead named Alexander. Now, the lead's son is taking kid limelight and in Malayalam, the film is titled ' Son of Alexander'. But problem has araised with the film's title in Tamil. A few years back, a film named 'Tihar Jail' was censored but it did not hit the big screen. Now the director of that movie contests that the title for this movie be changed, but Perarasu is not budging an inch, and is going ahead with the name, as the film has relevance to Tihar.
