'Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu' Audio Launch

Artistes lined up at the audio release of Kamal Haasan's much expected Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu held in Chennai on Sunday poured encomiums on him and expressed hope that the movie would go on to become a blockbuster.

Five young directors Saran, Dharani, Hari, Lingusamy and Selvaraghavan jointly released the first copy of the audio and presented it to City Police Commissioner R Nataraj, since the story of the movie revolves around an honest policeman.

Nataraj said he was delighted to be part of the function and expressed his admiration for Kamal Haasan.

He said Kamal's films always had a strong message to society and that he expected the same from Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu too. The Commissioner also assured support to prevent the movie from being pirated.

Kamal Haasan recalling his association with Gautham menon said the movie has shaped up well amidst several constraints it went through in the initial stages.

Speaking on the occasion, actor-director Parthiban said in his usual comical style said that with elections in the State fast approaching, he had decided to join Kamal's 'party'.

It has nothing to do with votes but has a lot about winning hearts of the film-loving masses, he added.

Among others who took part in the function included producers AVM Saravanan and A L Azhagapan, director Bharathiraja and actors Sarathkumar, Vijay, Arya, Vivek and Jyothika.

Earlier, the film's producer Manickam Narayanan, welcoming the gathering, said the movie was packed with the right mix of ingredients.

Directed by Goutham Menon along with a musical score by Harris Jeyaraj, songs of Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu are expected to top the charts.

The film is expected to hit the theatres this Tamil New year's day.
