Aarohanam - Double O'K'
IndiaGlitz  [Tuesday, July 17, 2012]

Despite there being little scope for songs in 'Yudhdham Sei', Mysskin's crime thriller, music composer K left his stamp in whatever space available, besides creating a big impact with background score.

In his second outing 'Aarohanam', directed by Lakshmi Ramakrishnan (who played a crucial role in 'Yudhdham Sei') K has once again made his presence felt. This time he has come up with six songs (two main songs, three instrumental versions and one short number). Let us see them one by one:

Indha Vaan Veli
Anand Aravindakshan

A simple and straight forward melody with guitar, tabla and flute for accompaniment, 'Indha Vaan Veli...' has been crooned well by Anand Aravindakshan. K walks into the heart straight away with this soft-paced number.

Thappattam
Sharadha R, Ranjini Chander, Harish & K

'Thappattam...' is an instantly addictive dance number which is catchy from the word go. This desi disco'ish track with 'kuthu' beats tempts us to listen it again and again.

Indha Vaan Veli (Flute version)

The flute version adds more softness to the melody, about which we have spoken a couple of paras before. What else can we say!

Dhisai Ariyaadhu
Vandana Srinivasan

K succeeds in evoking multiple feelings with just one song, and that's the USP of 'Dhisai Ariyaadhu...' Vandana Srinivasan adds immense value to the number with her voice.

Ode to motherhood
A soul stirring blend of instruments, 'Ode to motherhood' proves there is no need for language to express love, especially that of the mother. Congrats K.

I Won't Give Up
Reminding one of Ilayaraja, this instrumental theme piece is gorgeous. K has made good use of tabla and flute.
