Dhanush's Hollywood debut is now officially titled as 'The Fakir'. Debuting on Twitter, the actor said that he is elated about signing the film. "Elated to sign my first Hollywood film @The-Fakir,directed by Marjane Satrapi. A big thank you to all for the warm wishes keeps pushing me!" his first tweet reads.

The film titled was earlier titled as 'The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir Who Got trapped In An Ikea Cupboard'.

He is cast opposite Uma Thurman of 'Pulp Fiction' and 'Kill Bill' fame and Alexandra Daddario of 'True Detective' fame.

Dhanush will play an Indian magician Aja, who is sent to Paris on a clandestine mission by his mother.

The film is based on a French best-seller by the same name, written by Romain Puértolas.
