Serpentine queues form outside gas stations in Pakistan to by petrol and diesel in huge quantities. A strike by oil tanker owners has caused an acute shortage in fuel.

Tanker operators are on a strike to oppose the high fines imposed on tankers that are deemed unfit to transport oil. Authorities took this step after the death of 215 people in an oil tanker accident last month. Those on strike say that this rule is being misused by the police to get bribes from the drivers.
