The World Cup has finally come to an end after one and a half months of hopes, dreams, tensions, heartbreaks. The hosts England finally emerged as winners in a match that has left all of us without nails. It was only fitting that a tournament like this should have a final with a super over tie, though it must have been devastating for New Zealand. Now we’re going to take a look at ten different facts that are super intriguing and just too coincidental.

Firstly, we will start at the semi-final stage. India was at the top of the table at the league stage and they lost in the semi-finals. Australia was second in line and they also could not make it through the knockout game. Not only their standings, there is another similarity between the teams. Both countries have names ending with ‘ia.’

What makes it even more interesting is that both teams which went to the finals end with ‘land.’ So it was meant to be that England and New Zealand landed in the finals. Well if we had known, maybe we could have done something about it…

There are many more similarities that stem from the semi-finals. India lost 3 wickets early against New Zealand. Australia had the exact same fate against England. Looks like there was a bigger power involved, there seems to be no other way to explain it.

The matches had so many coincidences, it seems practically impossible. India got all out in the 49th over. Guess what, so did Australia.

MS Dhoni, former Indian captain got run out in the crucial semi-final match. In this game, Steve Smith, former Australian captain also got run out. Now if this isn’t creepy enough, we’ll give you another example.

When Dhoni got run out India was 216/8. And Smith went down when Australia was 217/8. This is too much isn't it? This isn’t the end.

In both semifinal matches 7 batsmen scored single digit scores and 4 scored double digit scores. How did both teams has exactly the same kind of statistics? Honestly I don't know. How would you explain all this?

It really seems quite impossible but looks like England was meant to win the Cup this time. If you're wondering about how much they won, it’s approximately $4 million and $2 million for New Zealand.

Michael Vaughan former English cricketer predicted the end much before. He had said, “Will stick to it ... Whoever beats India will WIN the World Cup ... !!! #CWC19.” England was the only team to beat the Men in Blue in the league stage, and they managed to emerge on the winning side.

We’ll leave you with the biggest irony though, get ready for it. Ben Stokes who was the man of the match yesterday, was born in New Zealand.

That's the end of the facts and coincidences, but one thing is for sure. This World Cup will be remembered not only by the English fans but by all cricket lovers because this tournament has given us enough and more reason for that. Hope your hearts have started beating normally again because there's not much time left for the next one.
