There was much talk when it was revealed that Gautham Vasudev Menon, ace director, will be part of a Malayalam movie as an actor. However, the movie's director Vineeth Sreenivasan has announced that Gautham will not be part of the movie.

The movie titled 'Jacobinte Swargarajyam', has NIvin Pauly in the lead role and is set in Dubai. Vineeth said that Gautham was supposed to do a pivotal role but was held up due to the Chennai floods. The team was unable to reschedule due to a tight timing and had to rope in a new actor. The director said that it was all for the good and that the newbie has done well.
