‘Katha’ seems to be a lucky word for filmmakers in Mollywood, as they are going on creating newer movies with similar titles attached with the word ‘Katha’ (story).

At least two dozen movies had been made in Malayalam with the word in the title including 'Katha Parayumbol', 'Kathavasheshan', 'Kathanayakan', Katha, ‘Kathanayaki’, 'Kathakku Pinnil', 'Kathayariyathe', and 'Iniyum Katha Thudarum', to mention a few.

The latest movie to announce such a title is Sathyan Anthikkad's Jayaram movie which is in the final days of its production.

Sathyan has stuck to his routines of naming the movie, just a couple of weeks before its release. Titled as ‘Katha Thudarum’, the movie is a satirical look on the lives of Urban Malayalees. While Jayaram plays the role of an upright auto driver, Mamtha will don the role of the heroine playing the young mother of a five year old, who is deserted by her husband.

Planned to get into theatres by the 30th of April, the movie will feature all the regular's of Sathyan cinema including Mamukoya, Innocent, K P A C Lalitha, Lakshmi Priya, cinematographer Venu and Music director Illayaraja in the crew and cast list.
