Manipuri heroine for Dulqar

One of the most vibrant actress from the Manipuri film industry Surja Bala Hijam, will try a hand with the different cultures of South Indian film industry with the movie ‘Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi.’ Featuring Megastar Mammootty's son, Dulquar Salman as her hero, Surja Bala will don the role of Assi, a Nagamese girl , an engineering student in the film who joins a college in Kerala under North east Quota. Bala, the 22-year-old actress, recently made her entry into Bollywood with ‘Zindagi On The Rocks’. The actress, who is visibly excited about the new experience here in Kerala, did learn a bit of Malayalam too for the film. ‘ I have watched a few Malayalam films and would love to do more films here,” says the actor.

Basically a road movie penned by Hashir Mohammed, the movie follows two youngsters who is embarking a ride to distant villages of Nagaland on a bike. Planned as a soul searching experience, the movie talks in breadth about different politics, religion and identity of the different ends of a big nation. Dulqar Salman and Sunny Wayne are playing Kasi and Suni, two youngsters who studied together in an engineering college in Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi , which is one off the most eagerly awaited films of 2013.

Cinematographer-turned-director Sameer Thahir who directs the movie has also co-written the screenplay. Rex Vijayan is the movie composer , while Gireesh Gangadharan cranks the camera. Produced by Happy Hours Entertainments and Surya Cine Arts, the film will get to theatres by the first week of August.
