It is a well known fact that director Sundar C has dedicated the better part of two years for the pre-production work of 'Sangamithra' produced by Sri Thenandal Studios. The historical fantasy film starring Jayam Ravi and Arya suffered a setback when Shruti Haasan walked out of the film after a Cannes launch.
It is now being reported that 'Sangamithra' will begin principal shooting only next year and Sundar C has decided to do a quickie before that. The same sources suggest that it will be the sequel to 'Kalakalappu' and will feature Oviya, Mirchi Shiva and other cast members. The 2012 sleeper hit is one of the best genuine laugh riots ever in Tamil cinema and fans will surely welcome it gleefully and with the current hot favorite Oviya on board we can already hear the cash registers ringing. However there has been no official confirmation and we would do well to keep our fingers crossed for the immediate future.
