Han Solo the major character in the Star Wars` movies had Harrison Ford portraying him in a number of films including the latest The Force Awakens`. Disney`s Lucas Films have planned a stand alone film based on the origins of Han Solo. Alden Ehrenreich plays the titled role while Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke,Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca were cast.

The untitled Han Solo movie planned as a May 2018 release has suffered a major setback as the directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller have left it halfway after creative differences cropped up with producer Kathleen Kennedy. It is still unknown who their replacement is but fans of the franchise are very much disappointed with the recent turn of events.
