The police have arrested a man who tailed the victim Alimuddin Ansari, a meat trader, and kept the key accused in the case informed of the victim`s location.
Raj Kumar of Ramgrah in Jharkhand was asked by the main accused to follow Ansari; he said that he hit the meat trader twice before the surrounding mob took over.
Eleven people have been arrested in the eight days since the lynching, including including the BJP`s district media in-charge and the main accused, Deepak Mishra and Chhotu Verma, both of whom belong to the local gau raksha samiti.
Lab tests on some meat samples recovered from Ansari`s van were beef, police said. Officers also said that Ansari had a criminal record for carrying prohibited meat.
