The shooting of the Tamil remake of Mollywood's blockbuster 'Maheshinte Prathikaram' helmed by director Priyadarshan is progressing at a brisk pace in Tenkasi. The movie will feature Udayanidhi Stalin and Namitha Pramod in the lead, reprising the roles of Fahadh Faasil and Aparna Balamurali in the original.

Actress Parvatii Nair has been cast in for the role played by Anusree while MS Bhaskar will be playing the role essayed by Alencier Ley Lopez in the Malayalam original. Samuthirakani appears in the villain's role, which was played to perfection in Mollywood by Sujith Sankar, while Karunakaran will be seen in Udhayanidhi`s side-kick role, played by Soubin Shahir.

And now, the latest that we hear is the team has roped in legendary filmmaker J Mahendran to reprise the role of Udhayanidhi Stalin's father in the movie. Mahendran made his acting debut last year with Ilayathalapathy Vijay`s blockbuster Theri, essaying the role of a villain.

It is reported that the Tamil remake will be quite different in its presentation. The director has reportedly made slight changes in the remake to suit the sensibilities of the Tamil audiences. Unlike its Malayalam original, there will be more prominence to humour in the Tamil version. .
