With a firm hope that the legal hurdle before 'Thupaki' would end soon, its makers are planning to release the movie for Deepavali.

Starring Vijay in the lead, 'Thupaki' directed by A R Murugadoss is being produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu. Kajal Agarwal is the heroine, while music is by Harris Jayaraj.

Originally it was planned to release the movie by August or September. However, the plan had to be shelved since a case against the movie was pending before the court.

"Those behind the project are hopeful that the legal issue would be resolved soon. They are now eyeing the festival of Deepavali to release the movie," sources said.
