From deliberating news to being the news, Arnab Goswami has come a long way. His exit from Times Now and consequent launch of Republic TV is under the spotlight again.

The Quint had reported that Times Now had caught up with – and even significantly surpassed – the viewership of Republic TV among English news channels. Arnab now claims that the network is manipulating the system with a “forced reach” tactic wherein Times Now would be the “landing page” on cable networks in some major cities. He said, “ This reach is not organic.” in his statement to the The Quint.

Goswami alleged that Times Now resorted to this method on the day of the UP election results by being the landing page (the first channel you see when you turn on the TV) on one of the largest cable TV networks in the country, Hathway.

He elaborated that the average time spend on Times Now was much less than that for his channel and that his channel was essentially still on top.
