Varlakshmi Sarathkumar signed on to play the lead role in the Malayalam movie Aakasha Mittai directed by Samuthirakani with Jayaram as the hero. The film is the remake of Samuthirakani`s superhit Appa`.

Varu has suddenly walked out fo the film after filming for just a couple of days and she has cited the reason as the producer being a male chauvinist and mannerless. She however thanked hero Jayaram and Samuthirakani for understanding her and supporting her decision.
