What have Chiranjeevi and Rajinikanth in common these days? Their sympathy for the cause of anti-corruption. They both have voiced their support for Anna Hazare, the 'mega superstar' of the moment, and his movement against corruption in a span of three days. Megastar Chiraneevi, despite being a politician of the ruling party, had issued a statement in support of Anna and his satyagraha. Three days later, Superstar Rajinikanth, ever ready to throw his weight behind any issue of patriotic character, categorically declared that a crusader like Hazare should be supported by one and all.

True to his style, he invoked the spiritual culture of India, describing the land as a 'karma bhoomi', while hailing the "bloodless revolution" of Anna. Be it at the time of Kargil War or other occasions of national significance, Rajini has never shied away from stating his position clearly and openly.

On the other hand, Chiru has become vocal on issues of socio-political nature only after he became a politician. When he was still a full-time actor, he used to be diplomatic in taking stands and often parried questions of political nature put by the scribes desperately trying to squeeze those salable bytes from the no-nonsense actor. His Tamil counterpart, however, has always gone to the extent of openly endorsing some political outfit or the other at the time of elections.
