Mohanlal's Lalisom cheque for sports scholarship

Mohanlal's music band, Lalisom, which made its debut performance during the national games had courted much controversy. The ministry had shelled out around 1.6 crores for that performance. With the band getting brickbats from various quarters, Mohanlal had refunded the entire amount by sending a cheque via speed post to the government.

Now, minister Thiruvanchiyoor Radhakrishnan has announced that the cheque will be utilized for sports scholarship purposes. Sports persons will benefit from this amount and the proceedings will be initiated soon.
