Mamtha Mohandas, one of the extremely talented actresses down south, had been lucky enough to start her filmy career through a movie by veteran director Hariharan. Though the film bombed, she was always safe in her acting career with continuous films in her Kitty. Mamtha had done good work in films like 'Lanka' to the tamil 'Sivappathikaram', bust strangely none of her films as actress made a decent run at the box office.

Mamtha is also a multifaceted artist with good training and equal competence in playback singing. She has become the favourite of musician Devi Sri Prasad. Whose song had fetched her film fare awards for best female singer, last year?

Anyhow Mamtha has now succeeded in getting that long evasive hit in films, but as a play back singer. Her song in Vijay's Tamil movie 'Villu', "Daddy Mummy,” set to music by Devi Sri Prasad has instantly turned out into a big hit. The song which is a heavily westernised number gives adequate space for Mamtha to express herself as a talented singer. And it is her sensitive modulations in this song that is also hogging the limelight.

Mamtha will be seen in Malayalam, in movies like 'Musafir' which will grace the theatres, within a couple of months.
