Explosion at Shoot causes further controversies

The explosion that happened in the sets of the movie ‘Aatmakatha’ at Kuttikanam yesterday, destroying two unit vehicles, has ignited new controversies in filmdom which is just out from the rows between producers association and exhibitors. FEFCA President B Unnikrishnan immediately pointed MACTA to be behind the blast. A few members of MACTA had earlier repeatedly asked the shooting to be stopped and had created problems with the producers of the movie, at the location. This is the reason FEFCA sites about the hand of MACTA behind the blast.

Meanwhile, Director Vinayan, the president of MACTA has dismissed the allegations as baseless, and said that the association had no involvement in the incident. He added that the members of MACTA were simply protesting against job denial. The Producers Association has also alleged foul play behind the blast, and has demanded an inquiry into the incident. The police has recovered explosives like those used in the quarries from the site.

'Aatmakatha' directed by debutant Prem Lal stars Sreenivasan and Sharbani Mukherjee in the lead. It also has Babu Namboothiri, Chembil Ashokan, Munshi Venu and Bindu Panicker in key roles.
