Just a few months back, no one dare touch Sangeetha even with the wrong end of a barge pole.

But then Sivaputrudu (Pithamagan in Tamil) happened.

It was a magic wand that has changed her life completely. From a plumpy, glamour puss, she has graduated into a dependable starlet. The news is that she missed the National award for the best supporting actress by just one vote.

She might have missed out on the award, but not on the number of movies.

She has been roped in to play the lead in a movie named Naa Oopiri opposite the handsome naveen.

Her last foray in mainline Telugu movie was in Khushi Khushiga with Jagapathi Babu.

But it is not just in Naa Oopiri alone that Sangeetha is busy in Tollywood. She is one of the three heroines in Vijayendra Varma. And she plays a pivotal role in Venkatesh's Sankranthi.

Sangeetha says she owes her break to Bala who cast her in the unconventional role of a Kanja seller in Sivaptrudu.

"That gave confidence to me on myself. That also bestowed confidence of others on me," she says thankfully.

On Sankranthi, she says "I liked the role a lot. At the same time, I feel I am lucky to get to work with a star like Venkatesh.

She is also eagerly awaiting the release of Vijayendra Varma.

Though she is candid enough to say that her role is "not so important" , she also says "this is the first time I have worked with a big star like Balakrishna. I am happy that I was a part of the film. In fact, I just play a glamour doll in Vijayendra Varma, for the first time in my career. I loved dancing with Balakrishna."

"Success doesn't matter to me. I believe in performance, " she concludes.

Well said, Sangeetha.
