Blowing his mind, actor Siddharth tweeted two months ago that third-grade news channels, which "sell their families to make up an hour of tv" deserve to be ignored. Making these comments in the context of being asked to clarify the rumours being spread by some sections of the media, Sid stirred a controversy.

Justifiably piqued by his comments, the media decided to boycott him until he tenders an unqualified apology for his contemptuous comments. To his dismay, a recent press briefing called by the actor was boycotted by the media. This made the actor retract his comment and offer an apology finally.

Here goes his clarificatory remarks: "In reference to one of my tweets in the past regarding certain news channels - My comment should have targeted only them for their actions but not their families. I understand that this has upset the journalistic fraternity & their families. As this was not my intention, I wish to apologise to the families of journalists for hurting their sentiments in any way. Thank you."

Well, Sid may have been hurt by the calumny some sections of the media spread against him, but he should have been more tempered in venting his anger. Nevertheless, the actor's 'sorry' must bring the matters to a close.
