Inspired by '1987 Opera House Hiest' incident and showing how a group of people posing as CBI officers conducted fake income tax raids, Bollywood filmmaker Neeraj Pandey directed the film, 'Special 26'. This film, featuring Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher and Kajal Aggarwal in the leads,released last year and was a big hit there.

Now this film is going to be remade in the South Indian languages Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam by Thiagarajan. The Tamil remake will star Thiagarajan's son Prashanth ('Jeans' fame) in the lead. Buzz is that Prakash Raj will reprise Manoj Bajpai's role in the four versions.

The lead actor in the Telugu version is not yet finalized, but the latest news is that Thiagarajan wants Ravi Teja to reprise Akshay Kumar and is going to meet the actor soon. Let's see if Ravi Teja acts in this film.
