A special screening of Malupu was arranged for some Tollywood film personalities. VV Vinayak, Sekhar Kammula, Kodandarami Reddy, S Gopal Reddy, JK Bharavi, Dasaradh, and others attended the screening.

The success meet of Malupu was held on Feb 23. This Aadhi Pinisetty-starrer was released on Feb 19 and has been doing well due to "word of mouth publicity," in the words of the makers. A thriller, the mystery in the second half is told in a gripping way, as the audience are finding.

The success meet was attended by Aadhi, Nikki Galrani, director Sathya Prabhas, among others. Claimed to have been inspired by a true incident, the film tells the story of three friends and how they get embroiled in a trouble not of their making, inviting troubles from Mudaliar (played by Mithun Chakraborty), a dreaded underworld don.

The Tamil version, titled Yagavarayinum Naa Kaakka was released in 2015.
