Nandamuri Balakrishna, son of thespian, Viswa Vikhyata Nata Sarvabhouma, Nataratna, Padma Shri, Dr Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, entered the film industry to continue his father's legacy. He remained one of the top heroes of the Telugu film industry for the past 33 years and earned a distinct place in the hearts of Telugu audiences as a hero.

This great artiste and hero is celebrating his birthday on June 10. Indiaglitz is wishing him a happy and wonderful birthday.

Like a flower showers its sweet smell right from the moment it blossoms, Balakrishna entered the films in his 14th year in 1974, with 'Tatamma Kala' directed and produced by his father as a child artiste.

He played the young hero's role in 'Annadammula Anubandham' a remake of Bollywood blockbuster 'Yadonki Baraat' in which Dharmendra played the lead. In the Telugu version, NTR played the elder brother's role, while Muralimohan as NTR's brother, while Balakrishna as the youngest brother. The film was proved a very big hit those days. In this film Balakrishna played the role of a singer.

Later, Balakrishna again played with his father in 'Rowdy Ramudu-Konte Krishnudu'. Balakrishna's film career was started in this way.

It is well aware about the relationship between Bhargav Arts and Balakrishna. There are several blockbusters in Balakrishna's career on this banner. Especially, the notable among them is 'Mangammagari Manavadu'.

Padma Shri Bhanumati, who played Tatamma in 'Tatamma Kala' played the grandmother's role in 'Mangammagari Manavadu'. Films like 'Muddula Krishnayya and Muddula Mavayya' were notable blockbusters in his career on the banner.

It is Balakrishna who started the faction-oriented subjects on the Telugu screen. Directed B Gopal with Balakrishna as hero 'Samarasimha Reddy' shook the Box Office with record collections. The dialogue in the film 'Nee Intikocha… Nee Nattintikochaa..' has become very popular and the Telugu audiences could easily recognize that dialogue and the film. The performance and ferocious action by Balakrishna made that film a blockbuster.

After 'Samarasimha Reddy' it is 'Narasimha Naidu' which rewrote the Telugu cinema records. The Telugu audiences gave a grand applause to this film and complimented Balakrishna's performance.

Not only in social films but also in folklore films also Balakrishna proved that he is second to none. Especially the film 'Bhairava Dweepam' earned him a very good name. In this film, Balakrishna appeared in a very dreadful attire for certain scenes.

Balakrishna also played a role in mythological film like 'Dana Veera Sura Karna' directed and produced by NT Rama Rao as 'Abhimanyudu' and gave a memorable performance.

After that, he played a dual role in 'Sri Krishnarjuna Yuddham' as Lord Krishna and Arjuna. Presently he is playing a fantastic role in 'Okka Magaadu' under the direction of YVS Choudary, a great fan of the late NT Rama Rao, on his own banner. There are huge expectations on the film. The speciality of the film is that about Rs 50 lakhs were spent exclusively for the makeup tests of the hero for a variety get up. The statement of YVS Choudary that Balakrishna would have a great new look in this film had hiked the expectations on the film further.

Balakrishna also had plans to direct a film 'Nartana Sala'. Let us hope that Balakrishna's dream to direct a film would realize soon.

Wishing Balakrishna a great hit with 'Okka Magaadu', Indiaglitz.com once again wishes Balakrishna a Happy Birthday.
