SS Rajamouli was not prepared to see the fans of Mahesh Babu rejecting his offer to cast the reigning star in the role of Alluri Seetharama Raju. When he sought to elicit the opinion of ordinary fans on Twitter by directly posing them this question, "do you want to see Mahesh as Alluri", most of them responded in negative.

What was not surprising, though, was the fact that most of the fans wanted to see Mahesh in a Mission Impossible or a Terminator. Never the one to go for sophisticated, sleek action flicks, Rajamouli is seemingly not enthused by this idea. He says that we get to see such action-packed films and there would be nothing different in going for an MI.

“It surprised me a lot, audience not wanting the Alluri remake. Actually, I never wanted to remake the film. Our audience do get to see James Bond kinda flicks regularly. Our people like emotional films a lot,” he said.

As a parting shot, Rajamouli confidently said that the film he is going to make with Mahesh will not disappoint them a bit. This is the first time that the celebrated director whose golden touch has changed the career graphs of NTR and Ram Charan in the past, is going public before the announcement of a film. No one can be sure about when his film with Mahesh will be launched. Since expectations from such their collaboration will be top notch, he wants to make sure that he knows the audience pulse.
