Mollywood's Dileep, Kollywood's Vijay and Bollywood's Salman all did Bodyguard, but the story, feels Gopichand Malineni, was born for Victory Venkatesh. The director of Venky’s new film, which is slated to release on Jan. 13, has this deep conviction, as he has seen the actor enact the emotions so perfectly. He feels that audience are nowadays watching only those films which entertain them non-stop for two-and-a-half hours.

"You can watch Venkatesh in his entertaining avatar in the first half. That said, the climax scenes breathe life in to the movie. He has emoted in such a way that it is very heart-touching. In keeping with the tradition of infusing a Venkatesh film with good songs, Thaman has delivered good music", Malineni says.

The first three versions of Bodyguard were directed by Siddique. Bellamkonda Suresh and others associated with the movie have maintained from the beginning that the film is coming with a lot of changes. Ace writer Kona Venkat has given the best shot to make amends to the original story.

The director, who has got Don Seenu in his repertoire, finds Venky a friendly personality. He made him comfortable from day one. In fact, Gopichand, being only one-film old, was initially jittery about directing a big star like Venky.
