With Dammu releasing with 1200 prints, there is little doubt that the film is going to scorch the box office across landscapes. What is good for the makers is that the film has been certified by the Censor Board without a single visual cut! What goes to show the confidence of the makers is that, they got Dammu censored 9 days ahead of its release. (Producers don't prefer to submit their movie for censor fearing that an unfavourable mouth of talk may be generated).

Dammu is being positioned by Boyapati Srinu as a family entertainer. Having given one of the career bests to Nandamuri Balakrishna, the director's responsibility has only doubled. Srinu says that the film will be a sensational hit for NTR and himself.

Besides heroism, Dammu boasts of comedy and an ensemble cast (read Nassar, Venu and others). In this interview to IndiaGlitz ahead of the film's release, Srinu said, "I would have placed this song, 'Rooler', in any other story for NTR. This image of him, I had it for long now. Believe me, the song has been conceptualised to work at a different level. You will be thrilled when you watch it."
