Nandamuri Balakrishna had a strong feeling to don mythological hero characters on the lines of his father. However, his dreams remained dreams and failed to take shape. He planned to remake ‘Nartanasala’ with Soundarya in the female lead as Draupadi in his own direction.

He launched the film with much pomp by roping in Srihari as Bhimudu. Balakrishna also got himself ready to play five roles — Suyodhana, Keechaka, Krishna, Arjuna and Brihannala — on the lines of his father the late NT Rama Rao in ‘Srimad Virata Parvam’.

A part of the film was shot with Soundarya as Draupadi and the shooting came to an abrupt end due to the sudden demise of Soundarya.

Now, Balakrishna is of the opinion to rope in Sneha or Nayanatara for Draupadi’s role and resume its shooting. Presently Balakrishna is busy shooting ‘Sri Rama Rajyam’ under Bapu direction and he is not only playing the lead role, but also trying to learn the directorial techniques, by actively involving in the technical aspects.

If ‘Sri Rama Rajyam’ goes well with the audiences, Balakrishna would resume the shooting of ‘Nartanasala’ once again.
