The producers of Dear Kishorenaidu Arigela and Ravindrababu Nallapula mean business. Though theirs is not a straight film, they want to promote it like an original Telugu film, because they found the Bharath-Rima starrer a native film when they first saw it. Subsequently, they got no less a man than the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Kiran Kumar Reddy, to unveil the New Year calendar at his camp office.

They requested the CM to release it, as they wanted to seek his blessings. The makers later averred, "We are spending like anything on promotion since the day we bought the film, because we believe in its quality of nativism. We have been able to create a craze among the audience."

Yuvan Yuvathi, of which Dear is the dubbed version, was a super hit in Tamil. The film has been described by the makers as an emotional entertainer.

Story-wise, the film has the hero playing a software engineer and the heroine is an average Jane. They happen to meet at an airport and Bharath falls in love for her. The film, unlike the regular love stories, chronicles the father-son relationship as well as narrates the emotional intricacies of a boy-girl relationship. It is set in part in the USA.

Directed by Kumaravelan, the film has music by Vijay Anthony of Mahatma fame. Suddala Ashok Teja, Rama Jogayya Sastry and others have written the lyrics.
