It is official that Siddharth is out of Roger Spottiswoode' The First Class Man, a biopic based on the life of Srinivasa Ramanujan, the mathematical genius. The film was first planned with Sid in the lead. The director Roger of Tomorrow Never Dies fame was confessedly impressed with Sid's intense act in Rang De Basanti and offered him the role of the legendary mathematician. It was reported that Sid had gone all the way to England to have a story sitting with Roger and learn about his role in the movie.

Months later, the news broke out that Sid is out and Madhavan is in. We are hearing that the Southern actor, who is familiar to Bollywood audience, has been asked to put on a few kilos for the role. The actor has now expressed that he will be adding on a few more extra pounds to get into the skin of the character, of Srinivasa Ramanujam, whose biography Maddy is working on. The film is touted to be based on the life of Srinivasa Ramanujam and his relationship with G.H. Hardy, a Cambridge scholar.

What made Roger go for Madhavan is not clear. The second choice, however, seems to be better than the first choice. For, Madhavan looks more convincing as Ramanujan than Siddharth, whose complexion and built are apparently different from the mathematician's.
