2.0 Trailer: Thrill Reloaded, Heroism Reimagined

The much-awaited Trailer is out.  It would be an exaggeration to say it satisfies the super-high expectations but let it be said that it's just an intro for something magical and majestic that is promised.  The magnum opus releases on November 29.

The premise of a maniacal destroyer (played by Akshay Kumar) becoming an evil technology that targets the humans is exciting.  As Rajinikanth himself said about the movie, it's for everyone from children to adults to intellectuals and pseudo-intellectuals.  It's fantastical and no arguments with the premise.

There is a sense that, in his misguided crusade, Akshay Kumar's character comes off as possessing childish idiosyncracies.

One feels there is less of typical Rajini sir and more of a "reloaded" Rajinibot (Rajini plus Robot).  The football stadium episode is expected to be massive and we get a glimpse of it in the trailer.

Amy Jackson is yet another robot and is romanced once again.

T Muthuraj's art work is meticulous in this VFX-heavy trailer.  25 VFX studios worldwide, 2150 VFX shots, 1000 VFX artists, 1300 pre-visualization shots, 1000 complex VFX shots, V-cam technology, Spidercam systems, Lidar scanning, 10 Concept artists, 25 3D designers, 500 craftsmen went into the visual extravaganza.

It's a 4D sound film, not a 3D one.

The action shots are varied.  Four renowned action directors: Kenny Bates, Steve Griffin, Nick Powell, Silva have worked on the movie.
