In an apparent effort to bring together all the non-BJP, non-Congress parties together in time before the Lok Sabha polls due to be held next year, chief-ministers of West Bengal and Telengana are to meet today.

Mamata, the 'Didi' of West Bengal and the State's first non-Communist chief-ministers for close to three decades, mooted the proposal some time back and spoke to Andhra Pradesh chief-minister and TDP president Chandrababu Naidu and DMK's working president M.K. Stalin besides Telengana Rashtriya Samiti's president and Telengana chief-minister Chandrasekara Rao.

Rao and Mamata are scheduled to talk in Kolkata today to take forward the 'third front' theory and make it a reality before next year's Lok Sabha polls.

The two regional chieftains are, as per political analysts' views, are obviously trying to take advantage of a weakened BJP and the not-so-strong Congress in trying to make inroads at the national level by bringing many regional parties together.
