Aashiq Banaya Aapne

Thursday, January 1, 1970 • Hindi Comments

The most successful formula ever in Bollywood continues to be put to great use week after week. We are talking about love triangles that have always been in vogue as long as one can remember. There are some twists and turns added to the story but the basic pretext never changes.

'Aashiq Banaya Aapne', a relatively unknown movie till about four-six weeks, is one such love triangle that will be out on screens on September 2. But is it again one of your routine 2 boys in love with one girl drama? Or does it have something more in store? Is the story as simple as the ones that you have already witnessed in dozens? Or is there a thriller element involved too?

Produced by Balabhai, ABA ropes in Emraan Hashmi for his one of the two movies [the other being 'Chocolate'] where he stars in a film outside the Bhatt camp. While he played a mature cop in this year's hit 'Zeher', he turns a college going youngster in ABA. Tansuhree Dutta debuts opposite him in this college romance while Sonu Sood is the third angle to this love triangle. Aaditya Dutt makes his debut as a director after playing assistant to directors like Mahesh Bhatt, Tanuja Chandra and Vikram Bhatt. Incidentally he is also the grandson of late lyricist Anand Bakshi.

The movie begins as any other teenage college flick. Karan [Sonu Sood] and Sneha [Tanushree Dutta] are studying in the college and are good friends. While Sneha is perky and catches attention of anyone and everyone, Karan is silently in love with her. He is an introvert who loves Sneha with all his heart and is willing to do anything for her. But when it comes to expressing his love for her, he develops cold feet.

As the saying goes, one should never delay the good act of reaching out to the one you love as you never know what role has the destiny to play on one's life. Because this is exactly what happens when Karan's friend Vicki [Emraan Hashmi] joins the same college where he and Sneha are studying. As was inevitable, sparks fly between Vicki and Sneha as the two hearts start beating for each other. Vicki is the kind of man that could sweep Sneha off her feet and the writing was clear on the wall for Karan!

He was on his way to loose the very girl he had been trying to come close to for all these days!!

Karan tries to distance Vicky from Sneha but on constant persuasion by Vicky gives up. All this while, the romance between Vicky and Sneha continues to blossom and Karan can do nothing else but smile and wish them luck. There is no war between the three as one would have expected at this crucial moment in their lives and they stay on as friends.

But was this friendship for real? Or is there 'something' brewing in the mind of 'someone'?

Meanwhile not aware about the scheme of things to come, Vicky and Sneha get into a relation from where it was a point of no return.  But this is where arrives a night when everything changes!

Vicky and Sneha separate and Sneha goes back to THE pillar of support in her life - Karan. Not lying low this time around, he proposes to Sneha. She accepts and the two youngsters are all set to get engaged.

But then does destiny always allow things to be so smooth? Because this juncture marks the arrival of Vicki back in the lives of a couple about to be united forever. Just like the night that separated Vicky and Sneha, another deadly night follows where all the three lead characters come together - once again.

What would happen this time around? Will Sneha forget about the past and go back in the arms of the man she once loved? Will Karan allow destiny to drive his life once again after all his efforts and love to gain Sneha? Are Vicki's intentions honest this time around? Is his love for Sneha real?
