Abhishek Bachchan shares how tricky comedy can be

Actor Abhishek Bachchan has worked in a wide range of movies throughout his career but there is nothing that he enjoys doing more than comedy. He is currently gearing up for the release of 'Dasvi' which will be his first comedy flick since 'Housefull 3' (2016). During a recent conversation with PTI, Abhishek talked about the film and shared how tricky and complicated this genre can be.

He said, "Comedy is a tricky genre. It is one of the most difficult genres because almost all of it is dependent on the written word. If it is not written on the paper, it is very difficult to create a comic moment out of something, unless you are doing slapstick. It is a genre that I have not done for a long time. The last comic film I did was almost five-six years ago, Housefull."

'Dasvi' follows the story of a 8th pass politician who decides to complete his secondary education after getting humiliated about it. Although education awareness is an important aspect of the narrative, Abhishek says that they didn't try to tackle any social issues with this film.

He stated, "We’re not tackling any social issues. Tushar has made a very sweet entertaining film that has a subliminal message about how education is important. But that is not in the forefront. It is an entertaining sweet family."

'Dasvi' is set to release of 7th of April on Netflix and JioCinemas.
