There has been no new Tamil movie releases since the producers council strike, not to mention that the entire industry is in a standstill with all shoots in halt mode. It was earlier decided that actors could pay more than FEFSI stipulated wages to their assistants. However Suriya promised to ease the burden of producers by paying his assistants out of his own pocket.

Now,following suit are Vishal and Karthi who have come forward to pay their assistants themselves. It is expected that this decision will save lakhs depending upon the size and scale of the film. This genuine move will no doubt help ease the monetary burden on bankrollers apart from the fact that it serves as a good example for other actors/actresses to follow as well.
