Here's an update on Ajay Devgan's role in 'Gangubai Kathiawadi'

Heres an update on Ajay Devgans role in Gangubai Kathiawadi 

It was announced last month that actor Ajay Devgan will have an extended cameo appearance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Gangubai Kathiawadi'. The film stars Alia Bhatt in the lead role. According to latest reports, Ajay finish his part of the filming on Tuesday. Apparently the actor only had one day of shoot remaining when director Bhansali got infected with corona virus. Since then, Alia Bhatt has also contracted the virus and has been quarantined.

Ajay will be portraying the role of real life Mumbai Mafia figure, Karim Lala who used to operate in the 70s and 80s. He previously played a character based on Karim Lala's associate, Haji Mastan in 'Once Upon A Time In Mumbai'. Ajay and Sanjay collaborated reunited after 22 years on this project. Their last collaboration was in 1999 flick 'Hum...Dil De Chuke Sanam'. Welcoming the actor on this project Bhansali Productions wrote on Instagram, "We are happy to have @ajaydevgn join the team of #GangubaiKathiawadi."

Makers were hoping for a July 30 release but recent surge in Covid-19 cases won't let that happen.
