Ajith seems to be aware where Tamil cinema is heading towards. This has made the 'Ultimate Star' to shed his sobriquet, saying that no such titles are needed for actors.

"Indian film industry has stepped into an all-new era. Actors would be valued for their performance and choice of films in the future and not for the tags they come with," says the 'Thala'.

"Hence I have decided to request my producers and fans not to use the 'Ultimate Star' title before my name henceforth. This is my humble obligation and I believe this would be accepted by one and all," he adds.

The actor has reportedly wrote a letter in this regard to Prabhu and Ramkumar, the producers of his forthcoming film 'Asal', requesting them not to claim him 'Ultimate Star' in the movie's promos.
