Earlier this week, Andhra Pradesh logged more than 500 coronavirus cases for the first time in 100 days. Fresh 24-hour data says that the State's new figure has breached the 750-mark.

AP recorded 758 new infections in the 24-hour period (ending Thursday 9 am). Official data says that Chittoor and Guntur each saw more than 100 cases each.

Cumulative data as on March 25 (10:00 AM)

Positives: 8,92,984
Discharged: 8,82,314
Deceased: 7,201
Active Cases: 3,469

Meanwhile, despite the steady rise in cases, the government has decided not to close down schools and colleges. Education Minister A Suresh, earlier this week, spelled out the government's stance regarding the matter. This decision stands in contrast to that of Telangana.
