The Andhra Pradesh government has been preparing the ground for an integrated online sale of cinema tickets in the state to ensure transparency. As per the latest media reports, the system is going to be in place soon.

A thorough plan is afoot to ensure that the tickets are made available for booking from April 1 onwards via Just Tickets, the private cinema ticket sales portal. The private player has been chosen as L-1 player through a tendering process.

The YS Jaganmohan Reddy government wants to make sure that the end customer is not needlessly inconvenienced in terms of extra pay for online booking. As such extra charges have been done away with.

The integrated system is expected to channel the sale of tickets both online and offline via a single platform. All theatres will have to adhere to this system so as to avoid fragmentation.

The Telugu film industry, in the past, welcomed the move.
