The former ADMK MLA and a senior member of the party B. Valarmathi has tested positive for the COVID 19  and has been admitted to a private hospital where she is getting treated.  Valarmathi a close confidente of former Chief Minister J. Jayalalitha is a vociferous spokesperson for the party.  She is currently serving as the chief of Tamil Nadu Text Books Corporation.

Earlier this month Gumaraguru the MLA of Ulundurpettai and Sadhan Prabhakar the MLA of Paramakudi also were infected and are being treated with some of their family members too.

Tamil Nadu currently has more than 1,11,151 cases as the lockdown restrictions have been relaxed from today and essential services such as vegetable and grocery stores have been allowed to function between 6 am and 8pm while restaurants would also function full time for parcels and fifty percent dining.
